I remember Terry Connor scoring a fantastic diving header away at Norwich in '85 or '86. Class !!

Jamie Pollocks was pretty special and there was one in the F.A Cup in the 1st round 3 or 4 years ago which will take some beating.

There was a Man City player who got a belter a few years ago now, he had to knock it over the head of one of his teammates before smasing it home. I've never actually worked out what he is trying to do if he isn't trying to score.

He heads it so I got that bit wrong - 20 secs into this clip

Two spring to mind. Robert Hopkins, playing for Birmingham against Altrincham in the FA Cup in the eighties. Literally had to beat three of his own defenders, the last of which he sent the wrong way by dropping his shoulder, before clipping the ball past his 'keeper with the outside of his foot. f*** knows what he was trying to do.

The best though, absolutely the best ever, with due respect to Edna, was the legendary Les Berry after he left us. Playing for Maidstone, I think, in their league days. A vicious, horizontal biycyle kick volley from just outside the box, arrowing into the top corner past a startled 'keeper. Berry hadn't even hit the ground by the time the ball hit the net, so high had he jumped to hit it and so quickly was it travelling. Unbelievable, and regrettably I only ever saw it on telly once.

I'm sure we've had this thread before.

I scored some of the best I've seen while playing in defence for West Hoathly in the sixties and early seventies!

Best own goal i`ve ever seen has to be Jeff Hopkins (Palace) playing against Millwall at Selhurst he lobbed Perry Suckling from 20 yards bloody classic. We went on to win a thrilling game 4-3.

Mark Hudson scored at comedy own goal last week Vs Luton you may of seen it on The Championship
