Rule Brittania at England matches takes some beating!
Aside from that, when a full Albion away posse gets going all together on a lets take the pizz out of the home fans a la
1. Your supposed to be at home
2. Shyte ground no fans
3. We are Brighton, super Brighton etc

Thats cool!

None of those are actual FOOTBALL songs though are they? They're just songs that have been appropriated by football fans - ditto CAFCMAtt and his 'Simply the best' which of course is dreadful.

BTW do England fans really sing 'Rule Britannia'? Even though it's England playing and not Britain? There is a difference y'know.

2. Vindaloo
3. Chicken Tikka Masala

In a pile of football shirts
Good Old Sussex by the Sea!

Pity we don't know a few more verses.

yeah yeah, I now expect someone post all the verses to it.

What I mean is pity we can't/don't sing a few more verses.

Cue Lord Bracknell to post reams and reams about useful men mowing and reaping ......

It's a pity we don't sing the football version correctly. It's "Oh we're going up AND WE'LL win the Cup", not "Going up TO win the Cup" which if any of you had any intelligence you would realise that apart from two days in May 1983 makes absolutely no sense at all.

You'll never walk alone. Liverpool I know, but the Brighton rendition after the cup final replay was a tearjerker. Everytime I hear it I'm back at Wembley.

GOSBTS is my favourite - gets me every time. We sing it much, much too quickly these days though. The old North Stand would never have let that happen.

Otherwise I like 'la, la la, la la la laaaaa, la la la laaaaaaaa Briiiiightooooon' because it's easy for the whole stand to time it right, so it's always loud. The essential 'both arms outstretched widely' action makes that song a pretty impressive spectacle when there's a big away turnout.

Anyone like any of the other clubs' stuff? Stoke's rendition of 'Delilah' is always impressive, and I like Leeds' 'Marching on Together'.

GOSBTS is quality.

But there's going to be a top chant doing the rounds by the Albion faithful this season. "WE WANT OUR TROPHY BACK"

GOSBTS. It's our song.

Anyone remember the marching song we used to sing.

We'd follow one solo singer. It went along the lines of: ( I may have got a few words wrong)

Chorus

Solo Singer: "Go Left, Go Left"
Everyone:"Go Left, Go Left"
Solo Singer: "Go Left, Right, Left"
Everyone: "Go Left, Right, Left"
Solo Singer: "Go Left, Go Right, Go pick up your Step, Go Left, Go Right, Go Left"
Everyone: "Go Left, Go Right, Go pick up your Step, Go Left, Go Right, Go Left"

Then there would be various verses.

Such as "Have you seen the Muppet Show?"
"It's on at Selhurst Park you know!"

Lord Bracknell said:
Nessun dorma!... Nessun dorma!...
Tu pure, o Principessa,
nella tua fredda stanza
guardi le stelle che tremano
d'amore e di speranza!
Ma il mio mistero
è chiuso in me,
il nome mio nessun saprà!
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò,
quando la luce splenderà!
Ed il mio bacio scoglierà
il silenzio che ti fa mia!

Good call.

I have the original single with 'The Goldstone Rap' and 'In Brighton' on the other side.

Sadly I no longer possess a record player. :(

'When the whistle blows and the fans cheer
You can hear them roaring from the P*l*ce pier.

Polling North Standers
The fans go wild, you can hear them singing from the seven dials,
There's a flash of colour and its blue and white, it's in the back of the net to the fans delight

It's a goal, it's a goal, it's a goal, can you hear the noise
It's a goal, it's a goal, it's a goal for the brighton boys

GOLDSTONE RAP, GOLDSTONE RAP
GOLDSTONE RAP, GOLDSTONE RAP

P-A-L, A-C-E, Stevie Coppell's got V...

Don't get me wrong, I couldn't wish for a better manager but the new version of the chant just isn't as effective.
