Pretentious? Nous?

Why? What makes something pretentious? A muffin isn't, ham isn't and egg isn't - so why when you put a little egg yolk saucy on top is it pretentious?

Contrary to everyone else, I LOVE popping a big fat greasy white stem in my mouth - don't like the little green stuff half as much. And asparagus soup ROCKS.

Perhaps it could be introduced as a vegetarian option at Withdean?

"Having a loyal following already in place because of your breakfasts can't be bad grounding when you're opening your own traditional English restaurant.

For the past five years, chef Simon West has been rustling up fry-ups at Graham's in Brunswick Street West, Hove.

When developers decided to turn the block into flats, it was the push he needed to try something new.

So he, along with partner Keren Bevis, set about finding the perfect premises for their first restaurant - and eventually found it near Queen's Park. "

Well I can't vouch for Talula's eggs benedict. However, having test-driven one of their Scottish breakfasts this very morning, I can vouch for their extreme marvellousness.

I may not now eat again til Saturday.
