I know there is a thread elsehwere but though it needed a poll. Perhaps someone could merge the two together?

Oasis
Blur
Radiohead
The Prodigy
Nirvana
Dr Dre
Missy Elliott
Robbie Williams
Spice Girls
Red Hot Chilli's.

Oasis for me. There was time just after Definitely Maybe when they were vital.

From the list it's hard to say anyone but Oasis. Two fantastic albums and caught the imagination of millions of people.

I'm still angry about the WANK FACE being on there.

I dont think Oasis were great song writers but there was nobody better at summing up what the mood of the country was. A bit of a illiterate version of The Jam in that respect.

Oasis mattered and I am greatful I was around because they were marvellous marvellous days.

What was the mood that Oasis summed up? They were the soundtrack to the emergence of laddishness, which has to be one of the ugliest notions this country has produced.
Utter wank.

All the best Stone Roses stuff was the eighties, not the nineties. I think only Fools Gold and One Love were nineties releases, plus the Second Coming album.

Oasis Quo? A glorified covers band. And not even a very good one. How anyone can rate them as the best act of an entire decade is beyond me.

Still, the 90's was hardly a vintage era. New Kids on the Block had the decade's first number one, Westlife had the last. Says it all really.

Not having Massive Attack is a big mistake in my book and bands like Suede were as pioneering in the early 90s as anyone.
