I....dunno....... I laughed......but intellectually remained unchallenged...........
Of course Benny Hill was funny.
AND very smart. Try even thinking up his 'Ham and eggs' sketch (MNX?) all the way through - and he did it from scratch.
His Chinaman was also very clever ("you stoopid irriott, why you no rissen?"). He had to think of all the mis-construed statements that could be spoken by someone with that accent.
