Roberts is one of these keepers who likes to completely dominate his box and clear danger early. The danger with this type of game is it does leave you vunerable as you are putting yourself in a difficult situation each time.

True, he made a couple of howlers on Sunday, but overall he made a couple of great catches and I do think that he denies forwards time and space.

I'd rather have him on my side than not. 4 is a joke of a mark. He is worthy of a 6.

(Also Oatway is worthy of better than 6, he played really well).

He was very impressive on Sunday, a couple of times I wish he would stay on his line but his handling of crosses was excellent.

He had a very poor game. His kicking (usually an asset for him) started poorly, and got worse. Not helped by some very poor back-passes (not towards the goal lads!). After that he stopped coming for crosses.

Still a top keeper. We'll allow him a below par performance, providing he keeps a clean sheet.

Agreed, perhaps occasion was too overwhelming. It would have been for me, never seen so much blue and white!!!

I've liked Roberts more and more as the season goes on.

Yes, he's prone to dropping the odd cross, but that's because he goes for more crosses than the average keeper. Overall, he probably gets more of the ball and helps out the defence no end, but because of the odd dropped one everyone notices it.

It's exactly the same with David James- if you're a keeper, people only notice the mistakes, but I'd rather have a confident keeper who was brave enough to gamble occasionally and go for things than a fat Mark Walton-a-like who is glued to his line.

Apart from his kicking, Ben had a good game (and lets not forget he's been carrying a foot injury for weeks). We all love the FDM, but I'm very happy with Roberts for now thanks.

What did he do wrong?
1. 2 or 3 kicks that weren't good (only 1 of whcih I think was 'bad').
2. Came for one cross which he didn't get to but then dived in when the player was swinging his boot and took a kick on the arm.
3. Bundled off the ball by one of their players, but was awarded a free kick.

What did he do right?
1. KEPT A CLEAN SHEET.
2. Came for a lot of crosses and collected. Dominated his area and would have given confidence to the defence (which, by the way, seem to all get on with him, whcih from what I've been told, is not the same with Kuipers).
3. Kicks from hand further than Kuipers, and also, is more willing to release the ball with good throws.

IMHO, he is a better keeper than Kuipers. Nothing against FDM, but the number of clean sheets we've kept this season speaks for itself.

Roberts.... ooooooops.... butter fingers....

Yeh, Imagine spilling the ball! I mean, sure he was taking elbows in the throat, and being held down by large center forwards...but spilling the ball! No excuse.

Absolutely agree. Roberts is a top keeper. Prone to the odd dropped cross, but snuffs out so many moves that might otherwise develop that it's worth that risk. Brave too. Much better than a 'keeper who's always rooted to his line.

FDM is class too, but that's no reason for people to keep slagging Roberts off.

Not a lot with a clean sheet, but for me his kicking displayed nerves and the last thing a defence wants is a nervy keeper. Might be way off the mark, but that is how it looked to me.

His record speaks louder than NSC anyway.
