His wife and family love the California lifestyle, he can probably get an extension on his LA Galaxy contract or some other involvement with MLS and he’s supposed to be applying for US citizenship – why the hell would he return to the UK?

Because he wants to captain the UK Olympic team in 2012 and probably thin ks he is still good enough to play proper football not in a third rate league, with players no longer good ehough for the English League. All the decent USA players are playing in another country.

I don't think he will return to the UK. He'll do exactly what Henry and Keane do - put in a minimum amount of effort for a maximum amount of money. Nobody is under any illusions about the quality of football in the MLS.

We still won't get on 'South Today' before Saints.

:lolol: "after the break we'll hear about David Beckham's loan deal at Brighton, and Prince William joining Gus Poyet's backroom team, but first lets go to the live webcam at St Mary's to see what Nigel Adkins is having for lunch"

Henry and Keane are motivated by money DB doesnt need the money and wants to play in the Olympics for UK. Not sure about USA citzenship he said in an interview his children are continually reminded that they are English and he and them are proud of it.

I think people generally think it's a go for the Beckham move then!

He'll go to Spurs.
