Beckham has had his day and certainly shouldn't be allowed back for sentimental reasons.

IMO his recall would undermine what the new team are trying to achieve which so far ain't bad. The country needs to move forwards - not backwards

It's all very well having a 'new team', but what's the point in leaving out one of your better players just to try and place emphasis on this 'new team'? In my opinion, McLaren has dropped him solely to do this, and convince us all that he has a different approach to Sven. In short, Beckham has been used as a bit of a scapegoat.

No one thinks he should be picked for sentimental reasons. But in taking form, fitness and ability into consideration there's only Gerrard to who's clearly a better player than Beckham and to say that Jenas, Downing, Carrick or Pennant are better than him is utter shite
