Dave Beasant has turned down a new deal at Brighton after failing to agree personal terms.
"I knew there would be financial problems when Brighton were relegated last season," said the 44-year-old.
"Anyway I still think I can do a job for a First Division club, or even in the Premier Division.
"Discussions with Steve Coppell were perfectly amicable, but we just couldn't agree on the terms."
Beasant is turning out for Wycombe in a friendly against Tottenham on Saturday, with Brighton now expected to turn their attention to former Charlton keeper Ben Roberts. (If we can afford his wages)
