Be Honest: How Much Was 'Fortress Withdean' Based On Grinding Out Results In The Mud?

It ain't rained for six months or more.

When we won Div.2 we spent a minimum of SEVEN consecutive games at Withdean grinding out results against all the fancied teams in a sea of mud. (My case for compensation for 'trench foot' against the club from the Tranmere game is still going through the courts).

Be honest here. How much of our success was due to the shitty state of the pitch at Fortress Withdean?

And could this account for our sudden inability to play on a proper playing surface?

It's a serious question.

1-0 to the Albion and then sit back and defend for the rest of the game, those were the days :D

Tom good points but we played some wonderful football in the second hal of last season on dry surfaces and beat Notts Forest and Wolves etc. It shows how far we have plummeted in the last 9 months.

No! The team cn play some really attractive football. In the last two monts something behind the scenes is going terribly wrong.I want that football back, with five playing at the back. Jones and Hart in that role would be smashing.

It's down to the players. Having seen them play 5 times this season I sometimes think I'm watching sunday league football.

I would like to say our players are crap but that would be insulting the word crap!!
