Radcliffe is exactly what we celebrate in some quarters of this pinko degenerate country of ours................a spineless useless, weedy I can't do it, I can't manage but gave it my best shot, don't we all love her for losing so well QUITTER.

Get out Radcliffe and don't show your face in here again.

Your just saying that for internet effect. You can't mean it surely?

If i was in a marathon and i didn't feel i was going to win (and lets face it,Team GB was only dealing in Golds) i'd pack it in too.

She's already proved herself to be the best thing we've ever seen.

Where did you get that from? First I've heard of it!

She was on Frank Skinner about 3-4 weeks ago and he read a passage from her book were she's describing the marathon in Athens, I think her words were 'I emptied my bowels for the 2nd time....' nice!

Holmes, Pinsent, Flintoff in that order - surely the most obvious 1,2,3 ever.

I just hope the England cricket team don't win the Best Team award - the Aussies would love that. I expect it will be Arsenal for their unbeaten season.

Some people really amaze me.

the vitreol about Paula Ratcliffe was absolutely disgusting and typical of the "british" mentality.

here we have the greatest female marathon runner ever seen, who breaks world records for the marathon by miles, a great ambassador for the country, a thoroughly decent person who always gives her best...and what do we get...small minded petty sniping by people who ought to know better.

If you remember, which of course as you have already made your mind up so it wont make a difference anyway, coming into the Olympics, PR had not run a ompetitive race for a couple of months or been able to train due to injury and illness. It was blatently obvious that her chances of winning were slim as there were fitter runners in the race at that time. She started off in her best poistion, at the front, but it became clear she was having difficult and was forced to retire. ue to press pressure and her desire to please people, she took the decision to run the 10K and had to dip out of that. She was berated by the press...it was f***ing disgusting.

Can we draw parallells...Beckham's treatment after the Argie game which he was sent off...now he is quite rightly a national hero.

Its about time we in this country lauded our heros instead of following the Sun's idea of smashing every bit of self pride we have and instead of promoting these ******* like Jade Goodey and Joe Pasqually as our national hero's, celebrate what we are bloody good at.

and relax

He's not a national hero, he's more of a media darling. I think he's lucky to be in the England team at the moment.
