Chris Froome won the TDF 4 times but never won SPOTY
That doesn’t make Cavendish a worse winner than Earps
He would deserve it but Froome not winning it doesn't mean Cavendish shouldn’t have won it. He's had an immense career in Cycling and as said, won the World Championships and Green jersey in the tour when he did. He was a very worthy winner.

My preference would have been Stuart Broad, partly to celebrate the immense career he’s had but also the fairytale manner in which it ended with the six from his last ball as a batsman and a wicket from his last ball as a bowler.
