Yes, so the sooner the HMRC do put a stop to employers forcing employees to go along with 'self-employed status' the better. Puzzled me as to why you wouldn't want them to succeed.

The extra costs of employers NIC and having to set up and pay into pensions for them might mean that they will take less people on so some people could lose out on a job and it will be lower paid employees who might be the losers in such scenarios

Sounds like similar arguments could be used for zero hours contracts - they make it easier for dodgy (or small) companies too. I'm with proper (and successful) action by HMRC on this one. No reason for letting employers dodge their legal responsibilities; they might have to re-visit their business plan - but that's business.
Anyway, the lower paid employees by definition cost less than high paid employees, so get rid of the high cost one's if your business isn't able to sustain its staffing levels.
