Under their new deal, BBC get ten live FL matches this season.

They've announce today that the first two will be.....

Newcastle v Werst Brom, and ....

Ipswich v Newcastle.

Didn't see THAT coming.

I'm beginning to wonder whether the entire BBC FL thing was a ruse to help Newcastle fans think they're still in the Premiership/important.

To be fair , they will want to put on the games that will get the most ratings and those two games will attract a fair bit of attention from your average armchair fan!! i cant see our game against walsall attracting quite the same attention, can you ??

Meopham, Kent.
Live games on terrestrial, I think it's excellent. Of course it's Newcastle, what were you all expecting them to do, Watford vs Doncaster.

If it wasn't for the cricket and NFL, Sky Sports could just go whistle.

What about middlesborough? They've been in the premiership a while and are probably therefore one of the bigger teams in the FL, why not give them a show?

Because regardless of whatever division they are in, Middlesbrough are officially the DULLEST team in the entire country.

those are the Championship games to be shown live according to the BBC website, no mention of L1 or L2.

Because they struggled to fill their ground for Premiership games so the level of support for Championship games will, understandably, be even poorer.

Why on earth should that matter to the BBC? They are a public service broadcaster, they won't get any more advertising revenue whether it is Newcastle v Middlesborough or Dagenham v Rotherham. They should at least ensure that no team gets on there twice until every other team has been on there once.

Terrestrial TV is complete toilet.

It should, and hopefully will eventually close down.

BBC Sport may as well close tommorrow to be honest - utter waste of time.

Perhaps they can't afford to bid for live sport - oh hang on a minute, the bastards fleece me (and you) every year for an (illegal in this day age) license fee, so yeah, they can afford it.
