10-15 minutes? I wish! I've never had rice (including easy cook) that was soft enough to eat after 15 minutes!

Rice of any kind should be the simplest thing of all to cook, reading some of the recipes on here one would think they are straight out of a 3 Michelin star restaurant!

A lot of people eating badly cooked rice though...

Aaaah, about time we had another one of these.

The main art of rice is pre-washing, not over cooking and draining/rinsing.

Cook normally with a little oil, rinse with hot water before serving, never had sticky rice

Blimey, that’s a lot of wasted foil if she got all her minions to cook rice that way!

Microwave pouches. Nobody will know the difference and rice is only used to soak up the flavour of the food one has it with. If people are honest they would happily eat the dish without rice.

Love Al's Kitchen but would not do my rice his way.

As said, double the amount of water to rice, boil water and add rice. Cover on low for 10min, allow to steam for 5-10min. Job done.

£30 in Argos or Currys or Asda its all Asians use and they are expert rice consumers....( been Married to one for 36 years)

Don't think that works for Basmati in my opinion.

Long Grain = Large surface area, e.g. frying pan.

Chinese/Asian/Thai = Rice Cooker.

Basmati = Oven or partially cooked, rinsed and cooked again as in a biriani.

The only rice I would cook in a saucepan is risotto.

There is no single way to cook rice, they are all very very different. Paella (with the correct rice) is a difficult bugger because that rice absorbs far much water than any of the types.
