and why can't England manage them.

Just the simple task of getting hold of a ball and passing it around to slow a game down and by yourself time,

Yes we were cheated by the Ref,

But from the moment Owen scored all we seeme dto do was belt the ball back to them, as if saying "there you go, have another crack at us"

One day an England team will manage the basic job of passing a ball around and making the opposition win it back.

Our ball holding skills were appalling to say the least.

We were hoofers in the end - very poor

We always have been.

Is it an English thing though, the Albion are bad for it as well.

I believe Owen scored the goal from a long ball?

Their defense was well dodgy in the first half and every time the ball was lobbed forward they looked like making a mistake, and indeed we nearly scored from it again.

So in that instance i reckon playing the long ball was working. But of course he didn't change the tac tics when Rooney went off and it stopped working.

Ericsson out now! He's had his chance.

I disagree with sacking Sven - we would only have to pay massive compensation and look abroad again.

There is no natural home grown National Team Manager.

sack him i agree.

We havent progressed at all in my opinion.
And if we dont in 2006 we will come unstuck with another hard luck scenario.
