as someone who hardly posts on this site and has seen the events unfold over the last few days i really do need to ask a couple of questions

How is it right to ban someone for expressing the vile word in the same sentence as immigrants when you can say anything you like about celebrities and use whatever language you like??

If someone puts vile British national would they also receive a similar ban??

As a Jewish Brighton fan and season ticket holder for many years i am always amazed at what content is allowed on here but i also think that there is a whole can of worms being opened up with these new bannings and i hope that the rules will be uniformed and not just with regards to a racial matter?

Meopham, Kent.
Just chill out, keep it to football talk, and light-hearted chit chat and all will be fine.

I think the boundaries needed pulling back in, and we should all be bright enough to understand why, and how we do it.

Let's have some more love people.

It's more about the bigotry than that language.

i agree but the question still needs answering.are we saying that we call say what we like about people as long as no kind of race is mentioned? believe me im not trying to be obtuse but surely you must be able to see my point?

Just love your fellow man (even the Palestinians) and don't piss ME off.

I think that's clear enough not to be asking any more dumbarse questions or making any more 'points', doncha think?

Don't forget - The ARGUS is watching

You can't "say what you like about people". If you say things that are slanderous (or when written, libellous) you will probably be banned from here and potentially face legal action.

It is illegal to use provocative racial language that can incite hatred. It's an offence to publish it.

It isn't, yet, an offence to insult celebrities (as long as you don't cross the line into slander/libel).

I would think the Mods are going to take a dim view of questioning why certain threads and subjects are being locked and users banned, and rightly so. Starting a thread on the subject will mark your card.

NSC is like a pub. everyones welcome and pretty much can say anything you like about anything, the languge might be a bit severe, its for grown ups so put up or shut up. think, would i be able to say this in a local pub without risking offence or a barring from the landlord? but some people have been crossing that line as if they were at home with their similar minded mates. its not about to go all Brightonfans round here, just the excess needs curbing.

im interested because i read with interest what goes on at this site because i also share a passion for the Albion and indeed financially support the club with my company sponsorship and had a table for over 6 years as well as my season ticket in the south and then north stands but find it baffling the double standards with regards to what can and cant be said. as i stated earlier i am against any kind of abuse of any nature but i do feel they should be dealt with in the same manner

There's a big difference between picking on a single person and generalising a whole race or religion.

To use your example, I am allow to write: "Katy Price is a vile human being" because it is true and in no way libelous.

I cannot use the same sentence to describe a religion however, as that would be out of order. It's not double standards
