Human League - you having a laugh, one of the best and most influential bands of the 80's with a catelogue of superbly crafted pop classics ???

Is this a wind up ???

Nothing wrong with the Human League mate!

I saw the Human League at the Marquee in about 1978 or 79 (back when there were four blokes and no one had heard of them).

I still remember the disquieted murmurings going round the hall when we got inside and everyone started whispering to each other "Where's the f**king drum kit...?" Oh, how naïve we were in those heady days...

They were bloody good though - as was Spizz, who supported them. I seem to recall Phil Oakey spent the whole gig sweating like a pig and complaining about how hot it was.

Carpenters (not any of the more whimsical toons mind), Bacharach and Manilow...

Nothing whatsoever wrong with the Carpenters or the genius of Burt Bacharach in my book.
