Any Sussexonian with a modicum of self-respect will have fallen out of King's/Oriana's/Busby's/The Suite etc etc and used what must be the yardstick of post celebration healthy dining. (King's was just a short hop).

I've never been to King's/Oriana's or Busby's and I've never been to the Market Diner.

Does this mean that I have no self-respect whatsoever?

There's always one. It was a general. light-hearted comment about 'the good old days'. If you wish to personalise it and make it into a personal attack then good luck.

A burger is a big no-no with a breakfast.

Wait, who the **** has a burger with an English breakfast?

True, but I remember when I lived in Brighton 20 years back, a gut or mega buster wasn't really a breakfast as you were eating it post 2am before going home to bed. It was a guarantee though that, no matter how much you'd drunk, you would not have a hangover the next morning after eating one of them.

I did go in there a handful of times but I could never eat that much after an evenings drinking.

Just commented on the burger because the menu said breakfast.

In my hotel, the full English consists of a field mushroom, hash browns, roast tomato, black pudding, smoked back bacon, Cumberland sausage, choice of egg AND baked beans. Oh, and toast, but I'll do fried bread if they ask nicely. The item people most want left off/subbed is the black pudding, because they are UNEDUCATED HEATHENS

EggS I hope ?

I have to say that one Sunday this year I went to The Chalet and had.

Burger
Black pudding
Bubble and squeak
Tinned tommys
Mushrooms

I was hungover, it felt wrong but Jesus it was good.

I remember the market diners gut buster like it was yesterday. In reality it was 15-20 years ago and was always the result of a positive night out. The good old days :)

Whilst I like branston baked beans on toast (with worcester sauce), I just hate baked beans with eggs of any kind. So, ot's a no from me.

Not enough choices. Id be quite happy with baked beans on a full English breakfast but, if it was a choice betweem Beans or tomatoes, I would go for tomatoes every time.

The most curious thing..
Not too many beans, and don't drown the rest of the ingredients in the sauce.

What about kippers?
