Yorkshire say they have had no request for Jonny Bairstow to keep wicket on his return from injury, but the player himself wants to take the gloves.

Seems very unfair on Foakes if it does happen, why couldn't he replace Crawley at the top of the order?

If they do drop Foakes then they might be better off giving the gloves to Pope. But dr'opping one of the best keepers in the world, with a decent batting average for an opener who can't buy a run would be an appalling decision. The new super aggressive bowling strategy needs the best fielders. Who would Stokes rather have as keeper when Smith is batting? Catches win matches. Crawley isn't even a passenger in the team, he's a stowaway.
