I realise this is a somewhat localised thread, on a regional forum.
But for those of you in the west of West Sussex, I'm about to slap 2 hot and spicy beef kebabs, on the bbq.

Along with a minted lamb chop and an Italian pork kebab.

This is after a lunch of smoked Brie, 2 other french cheeses and a rustic loaf, all brought from the French market, this morning.

Oh happy days.

Half way through a bottle of Orvieto, which apparently is 'a clean dry white wine from the Umbrian hillsides in Central Italy'.

It worked ok with the cheese, I doubt it will be a appealing with the meat.

I'll check the cellar, although on last inspection was predominately stocked with champagne.

Pronouncing the T, of course.

The nearest I get the MoeT is Lansen Black Label, but that's already been ear marked for a possible occasion in a few weeks time.

The Orvieto held it's own, only it's left me hunting around for another bottle, of something. But we only have a Cab Sav/Merlot blend, a Shiraz, and 2 JP Chenet's left in stock. (not to mention 2 lesser champers and a Cava).

You must be from the Rustington region.
Cycled past the market today, could have done with a bit of brie and rustic loaf!!

The Cab/Merlot and the Shiraz would both do the job and you have two bottles to sip whilst watching Germany/Poland.

Veuve Clicquot is my special occasion bubbly for when we move into Falmer. :yahoo:

Making getting up at 5:15 tomorrow, somewhat unlikely.

Used to really rate Bairds a few years ago for good quality meat at great value but since the shop has continued to expand the prices have got much higher.

For those in the Lewes area, I can highly recommend Frank Richards & Sons (Western Road, Lewes) home made Koftas for a bbq. The only warning is that they are very strongly flavoured and if you leave them in the fridge for too long they stink everything else out.
