Blimey! Some of those (made in August 2022) are absolutely SPOT ON!

(Or has Twitter added an edit feature?)

Some spookily accurate and - given they were written in August - outlandish predictions!

Great thread, thanks for sharing @Wozza

That's a lot of fun. We should absolutely do this over the summer

On a sort of similar note, I've often thought about doing a list of all the players we're linked with and comparing it with how many actually join the club!

For those who don’t do Twitter, here are some of my favourite ‘wild’ predictions.

These were all made August 1-5. No editing since. Incredible stuff.

“Sean Dyche will be a Premier League manager before the World Cup. But it won't be Everton.”

“Crystal Palace finish above Chelsea.”

“Two of Lampard, Gerrard, and Rodgers are gone before the end of the season.”

“Tuchel sacked during the season.”

“Lampard ends the season as Chelsea’s interim manager”

“For the first time since the 2017–18 season, all three promoted teams will SURVIVE!”

“Kalvin Phillips to make fewer than 10 league starts”

“Brighton to get top 6.
Martial to outscore Nunez.
Fred and Kulusevski for TOTS.
Leeds, Southampton and Bournemouth relegated.”

“Sean Dyche drags Everton away from relegation trouble, but is booed by the Goodison crowd on the final day of the season.”

“Newcastle somehow enter the top 4 by Christmas”

And finally…

“Man City pay £50m for Cucurella but Brighton finish in European places.”
