Back to back.

We were shit before we got Kuipers, Cullip, Chippy etc and with them we built a backbone that lasted for YEARS, achieving something only done by a handful of clubs.

Its a great question.

I think Zamora would have a huge impact, but i reckon Greer and El Abd would have to work very hard to of kept him quiet.

we play better football now and current squad would be on top, however Zamoras goals would probably nick it leaving the back to back side, the winners.

Current tippytappy would win, more class throughout.
I genuinely think Zamora is the only one who would get in the currant team if you were doing a best XI out of the two sides.

Tippy tappy, easily. Better all over the pitch (except up front).

Zamora wouldn't have seen much of the ball at all, and I remember him being a lot less effective in the championship when starved of service.

Tippy tappy. I think there is just more creativity in the current side and I feel they would create chances. I think the B2B would be too reliant on Bobby's genius.

This was tough.

Tippy Tappy would win but it would be close. Tippy Tappy would keep the ball more and starve back to back of playin football. Provided Tippy Tappy avoided conceding set pieces around the edge of the box, the class of Tippy Tappy would out.

Back to Back were a great side but they could not have hacked it at any higher level, Tippy Tappy could, as has been seen with two victories over championship sides.

I dont have an issue with Tippy Tappy scoring, it would be more of a case of who would score as Tippy Tappy have far more options.

Of the Back to Back team, how many do you think would fit in with Gus's style of play?
Watson, Morgan, BZ and maybe Brooker imo

My thoughts exactly. What a game it'd be!

I voted back to back because they seemed to be a tighter unit, no evidence but that's how it looks to me. It would be a bloody good game though. Somebody last night suggested that then v now should be a ramp up event...

Over two legs I think home advantage and a big crowd might sway the tie to the men from Falmer.

Cullip would, 2002 Kuipers might have.

The Peter Taylor side won a lot of games by one goal thanks to Zamora and did not create huge amounts of chances.

This current side wastes chances for fun, imagine a clinical Zamora in the current side.

That team spent 90% of games against the better sides defending well. It would be fascinating to know if they had the legs to compete with the short passing of the current team whilst trying to keep Bennett, Barnes, Murray et al from passing their way through . It could of course end up with triangles between Casper, El Abd and Greer with the back to back team just waiting in their own half :lolol:

I'd fancy the current team to win quite comfortably personally

Zamora is the difference between the two sides in my opinion, otherwise it's extremely close.

Posted a thread a while ago I actually think the team that got relegated from the Championship under Coppell is the best team I have seen. We finished the season in play off form and only went down due to Hinshelwoods run of 8 consecutive defeats.

Kuipers
Watson
Cullip
Ingimarrson
Blackwell
Brooker
Rodger
Carpenter
Sidwell
Zamora
Rougier

5-3-2

We played Wolves and Watford of the park at home winning 4-1 & 4-0 beat Reading away 2-1 just three games that spring to mind when we were written of at Christmas for being too far behind.
