Doug ahs a point though. In the early nineties I worked in the Hounslow area which as most people know has a large ethnic population. A lot of muslim women were forbidden to learn let alone speak English by their husbands. Did I make that up ? Well if I didn't perhaps the many Asians (mainly Hindus and Sihks) did because that's what they told me.
Bear in mind that both Sikhs and Hindus have no time for muslims and they are both considered infidels every bit as much as anybody of European decent by muslims.

This was one of the reasons that Connex collapsed as a railway operator. They seemed to believe that they could hire and fire staff at will. When it turned out that they couldn't, the whole operation started to slide downhill. Passengers suffered (just like BA passengers are currently suffering), but everyone is better off now that Connex has disappeared.
Let's hope that the same fate awaits similar employers in other sectors.

Hear, hear. As I said earlier, many American firms have no clue about employee rights. Also, you can rest assured that the strikers won't get paid that's quite normal.

I agree that some strikes are quite ridiculous but on the other hand this stems from the heavy handed way that Gate Goumet dealt with their staff. As I said earlier I sincerely hope that BA terminate thier contract with the utmost haste to encourage this company to slink back to the US where employees are used to being treated like dirt.
