Bozza if NSc is financially screwed perhaps we should start a donation process to get it back on track, I'd be happy to pay to keep the site running.

Likewise. Lets start a "NSC Survival Fund".
Just how much in the shit is it? What are we talking, £100's, £1000's, or what?

Things are OK short-term, not least of all because Coppell finally made a decision and the board has slowed to more normal historic usage levels (ie 150 or so concurrent users most of the day as opposed to 250-300).

I'm working on a few things.

I see a 'User donation' scheme as a last resort, but if it comes to that, then you'll be the first to hear!

palace bbs has a user donation' scheme which you pop a few quid in when or if you have it,which lots of member including myself before my banning would would very happley do.

There are two ways to do it...

i) A fixed (but not mandatory) amount - say a tenner. Could attach certain rights to those who have, eg:

northstandchat.com email address
get to choose and change their custom title whenever they want

ii) a Paypal or similar donation scheme as you describe.

Surely 'priveliges' for those who donate is not a good idea. Wouldn't people then start acting as if they owned the place?

But NSC users do own the place. Witness the shambles that is the Littlest Hobo forum. Tsssk.

Worth a donation for the entertainment value.
Problem would be Turkey losing all the pledges or money.

Why can't we have pics in our sigs anymore though? I wanted to include.......

Great, got my van back. Been using the bus for 2 weeks.

How about 10 p a post, that'll slow a few of these work dodgers down a bit.
