England scored 407 in 79 overs in the 2nd test in 2005 which is about 5.2 runs per over.

Not really. Flat deck, Steyn and Kallis injured for large parts of the day and SA lack a real quality spinner like Swann.

They've got to learn how to properly play a seaming moving ball in English conditions, something they havent mastered on the last two tours. Michael Clarke has barely scored a run in England as well.

Next summer's Ashes will show us back to our best.

Bloodyhell, flat deck o not, just had a look at the scorecard and Clarke got 224 in 243 balls! That is just incredible. Warner opened and got his 119 in 112 balls.

I wonder what the rush was!!?
