Except you didn't actually say it has nothing to do with science, did you? You said "scientists have no interest in this, so would not have formed an opinion", which is completely false.

It has NOTHING to do with science. Does Stonehenge and its alignments have anything to do with science? Answer - No. Keep googling.

Nearly.

It was signalled by the rising of the Dog Star (Sirius), in Canis Major.
