Chaps (If you have taken advantage of pre booked tickets no need to reply)

Those who are not able to take advantage now of advanced rail tickets might want to know that if you travel via kensington olympia it is 41.90 return as opposed to almost 60 quid via euston. (this is from brighton)

for those travelling in groups (say of 4) a southern daysaver ticket is 20 pounds
and could be used from say littlehampton or eastbourne to get to clapham.

a return from clapham to witton via kensington olympia is 32.90

so effectively a group of 4 travelling from mainline sussex destinations would pay no more than 38 quid an individual no more than 42 quid

dont pay more than you need to!

Got a better one,

£20 for 3 or 4 people to travel to WATFORD JUNCTION on Southern Groupsave, then you need a London Midland DAYSAVE to get you from Watford to Birmingham New Street [£48 for 3 people] restrictions are Southern or London Midland trains, obviously, but gets you there for under £25 each.

Witton is a couple of quid from Brum New Street, and after the game there is usually a few trains backed up in the station so should make the 17.33 or 17.53 trains [the 17.53 and later, you need to change at Northampton, so make sure you pack some beers.]

Beware though, i think some people are thinking that because watford junction and milton keynes are in the network card region they are covered by the southern group save! the line between clapham and watford is run by south west trains a group save will only get you to clapham

Alternatively could buy if in group of 4

Southern Daysave £20 for 4 so £5 each ( online sale only)
Cross london ticket say Battersea Park to Zone 12 £ 5.60 each Buy on day from your local station or up to 7 days in advance
London Midland off peak day return on groupsave 4 Euston to Witton £12.50 each ( can be bought at any manned station in advance)

Do not have to book a set service but can only use the train company stated on the tickets

Total cost £23.10
Journey little longer but the virgin trains will be standing only for those who have not booked seats.
