Just thought I'd mention this as nobody else seems to have done. Questions from Crabtree BHA, Wozza and Chapmans The Saviour published amongst others. Answers as they appeared in the forum.

Seems a bit strange. Were these people asked if that was OK? You have no right of comeback, or supplementary question, in that forum - even if you're not happy with the answer - without starting another thread.

Insider spent a lot of time answering my question, for which I was grateful, but a lot of it was stuff I already knew, and it didn't answer the main point about whether the board are actually aware there may be a limit of how often they can ask people for for money. I wouldn't have wanted that question, with the standard club spiel answer it got, appearing in the programme without my permission as it didn't answer the question.

No I wasn't asked... but why should it be a problem ??

I put MY question on a public forum... and they put THEIR answer... surely people can make up their owns minds on the validity or significance of the question and the veracity of the answer.

Fair enough, we'll have to disagree. I was under the impression it was to actually allay fears and answer concerns, rather than fill a couple of easy pages in the programme. There should have been something put at the top of the thread that these could appear in a match programme.

Excellent news. Shows how highly the club value NSC as a means of communication with many of the fans.

That's bad news. Especially as the programme is more or less inviting readers with web access to submit questions via NSC.

My worry is that, hard as it may be to believe, some people might be directed to the site and find a load of stuff on here that they find offensive. Last thing that's needed is the site being closed down, even temporarily, in the run-up to the Falmer march.

NSC is hardly a private forum though - whatever is posted on here is in the public domain for everyone to see anyway. I can't see why the club should seek permission to reproduce stuff for the programme when it is already "out there" in the public domain.

I could understand people being a bit miffed if an email was reproduced in the programme without consent, but if its on NSC, its already there for all to see. Bravo to the club for having this forum in the first place, and a good idea to put it in the programme for the non-geek supporters as well.

Bad news - how ?
I'm sure most Albion fans are aware of NSC even if they don't bother viewing it, and encouraging visitors to this site to pose questions for the club can only be healthy IMHO.

The NSC Sponsored games always gets good coverage for NSC in the programme, and some of us have even found ourselves EXPOSED in glorious technicolour to the masses. As far as finding stuff offensive...other than the...unpleasantness...earlier this year, I can't see too much on NSC to be ashamed of, its not like we've got any dirty little secrets to cover up (apart from Gareths disgraceful tips perhaps).

Don't you remember that NSC got closed down on the very day that the One F In Falmer fanzine went on sale? Would only take one outraged visitor to do the same in the run-up to the Falmer March and Albert Fund-Raiser and it'd be pretty disastrous.

Apart from anything else, it's bad form by the Club not to ask Bozza first.

I agree with Tom, all it took was the club to ask Bozza and I'm sure everyone would have given their permission.

I know this is an open forum and discussion board, but personally I would like to be asked before something I've written is published in an official club matchday programme (not that it was!)

The point is that you post on here thinking it's for the perusal of other NSCers - you don't expect it to end up anywhere else.

Yes, that was the 'unpleasantness' I was referring to. But to be fair I think that thread was a bit of a one-off. We don't regularly see stuff on here that is as blatantly out-and-out deliberately offensive towards any particular group, and the mods do a pretty good job of removing anything that is.

I don't think we need to try to give NSC a low profile in the run up to the march (or at any other time for that matter). Honestly, what have we got to hide ? I just cannot see why we should be fearful of new visitors to the site. We get them all the time, the number of people getting usernames seems to increase daily. Trying to "cover up" the existance of NSC in the matchday programme for fear of somebody being offended just smacks of paranoia.

I'd agree that perhaps something should have been mentioned to Bozza first though.

Hmm, I might change my signature then. Don't want a reputation as a f***ing potty mouth now do I?

What question of mine is in there? I didn't quite understand Tom's answer about cakes.

Given that we regularly namecheck the Argus, BBC, and official website for news without asking permission are we not getting a little precious about this?

The forum is a brilliant idea, end of.
