Yeah, I'm not surprised the council want it sorted!

Could they have made the steps any narrower?
The front concrete jungle garden isn’t much better, I found it on Google Earth.
I honestly don’t believe it cost £30,000 especially if her so called landscape gardener friend did the work.

I don't understand why a tenant would spend £30k of their own money on a property they don't own.

The 'But no one from the council ever told me I would have to do that' regarding permission is a bit bewildering. I'm not the brightest button, but I'm pretty sure I would check these things out first.

It’s complete nonsense, i can understand the garden was a mess but it didn’t need all that work to tidy it up.
I would have thought new fencing was down to the council especially if she also got her neighbours to also contact them.

Never click on Argus links, then you won't see stuff like this https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/25170161.brighton-gran-evicted-30-000-garden-makeover/

a) they're definitely foxes in the left hand picture!
b) that's not drainage, it's a hole.
c) Which landscaper wants to put their name to that work?!?
Stories like these perplex me.

“My kids were embarrassed growing up because we were not able to use the garden and we couldn’t have anyone round [...] I couldn’t do it myself – it was very hilly, overgrown and needed so much money spending on it [...] As a single mum with three kids, I spent a long time saving to make the inside nice first. That took me nine years.[...] From day one to two years ago, we never used the garden. I couldn’t ask anyone for help because I don’t have anyone around me.”

So her kids couldn't have friends round as she was too embarrassed about the state of her garden, but yet has been managing to save £150 per month to spend £30k on concreting over her garden & whatever else she's saved to spend on the house? I can't ignore the money on Botox either (sorry). Say 3 years of savings could have got most of the garden done without the need for concrete & the kids could have used it. My front lawn is on a 45 degree angle & is small so actually quite dangerous, I still make Jnr mow it. :lolol: She could've paid a gardener to maintain it & wouldn't have had to get her (suspected) painted fingernails dirty.

I'm not going to comment about being able to save £30k just for a garden whilst living in a council house!
The headline explicitly mentions she's a Gran. You couldn't let your grandkids play in that garden. It doesn't look inviting in any way, shape or form & it does look bloody dangerous!!! I reckon you could get away with a game of swingball without injury as long as they weren't allowed to go up any of the steps.
Not even so much as a half dead shrub in a pot there either! 🤷‍♀️ Stupid bint!

Fencing is down to the council if you have a child under 5, or at least it was 17 years ago when her garden was so dangerous with foxes and snakes! 🤦‍♀️
In my 'conspiracy theory' head she's probably complained about the neighbours shed at the back & it's come back to bite her on the arse.
