Good for you. But I can't imagine that every year in the 44 I've been supporting the Albion, I've always felt the same. Much depends upon the end to the previous season and someone said, last season deserved so much more and ended sourly.

Or maybe the club and it's endless but ultimately always fruitless pursuit of the Premier League riches has left true fans jaded.

I can understand you feeling like that. Sometimes I miss watching at Withdean or at Bury. It seemed more fun when there were a few thousand at home or a few hundred away from home. But the club couldn't go on like that. It has changed but what else could we expect? It has to aim for the premier league or it will not flourish. I detest the premier league but even I understand that has to be the goal.
