Question:-Are you better than your brief visit to div 1 last time and if so do you think you`ll last the pace.
My honest opinion i`m not sure and that`s not just because i`m a super EAGLES fan.
Only sensible replies will be answered.

No

That's a pretty fair assessment, but in a backwards sort of way (something anyone from Croydon can appreciate), I do feel we'll stay up this time

Yes I think we are. We've had a proper manager in place throughout the summer which has greatly helped. Once we get the injured players back (Carpenter, Reid, McPhee, Roberts and maybe Rodger if he ever makes it) we should be ok. Plus we can hopefully loan in some additional quality to help us through the season.

This stage of the last time around we had the likes of Danny Marney (Crawley) and Shaun Wilkinson (Eastbourne Borough I think) getting regular games so there's no doubt we're better prepared this time. Losing Blackwell is a blow though.

Oh and :salute: for not wanting Falmer

how can you say yes?

Roberts, Knight, Virgo, Harding (international and all that), El-Abd, Guy Butters, Jarrett (who is BRILLIANT), Nicolas, Currie and Molango...

It can only be a good thing.

how can you say no? without seeing us play.

we looked decent at times V reading, and did in the first halfs V wigan and leicester, which is better than last time round.

with roberts, carpenter and rodger to come back we will defintely have a better team than we did in september last time.

No - we don't have the experience that we did last time in key areas. Proven players that had played in the higher leagues. However agree with Sam Parish that having a manager in place throughout the summer will be a great help in us staying up.

If you get Rodger and he is half as good and commited as he was for PALACE then i think he could make a difference look after him as well Top bloke he was shame he had to go.

Yes butters, and kitson had premiership experience which was last time. and now this time, kuipers, cullip, butters, mayo, jones, carpenter, reid, jarrett, hart, knight etc have all played in this division before which is a lot more than the side we had in september in div 1 before.

Agree and we still have loan players to come in.

ingirmasson was brought in onloan, and we havent made a loan signing yet which im sure we will do whose equally as good. instead of brooker we have jarrett who has a lot of potential. we have the same right backs as last time. oatway also played when we were in this division last time.

Much better. Eleven grown men on the pitch (OK, ten and Leon Knight) and a manager who knows he's got to use the loan system to get a big striker in. No thirty point start for the rest of the division this time around. The fighting spirit that usually only kicks in in the second half of the season is much in evidence already (with the occasional off day). We'll be staying up with a bit in hand.
