Are we really thinking of taking this guy on loan...?

Because of the way we play football, and because we have a sizeable Spanish contingent anyway, and because we have a Spanish Coaching Staff, the head of which has had significant time at Barcelona himself in the past. He may well go elsewhere - probably will, but we should not discount ourselves so easily as an attractive place for someone to gain experience.

We should when it's someone as talented as Deulofeu. Anyone that thinks we have a chance is in Cuckoo land

1. He would actually play week in week out
2. Garcia was his Manager at Barcelona B

This is the rumour that won't disappear despite it being impossible, because, amongst other reasons:

1. He already has all the playing time he wants in the second tier of domestic football with Barcelona B.

2. If he stays in the second division at Barcelona B he can be promoted up to the first team squad for any game - league, cup, CL - and back again AT ANY TIME

3. A much less talented Barcelona B player, the defender Muniesa, yesterday signed for Stoke

4. An actual former Barcelona B manager Luis Enrique has just been appointed at Celta Vigo where he is currently signing up all manner of Barcelona B former and current players

5. He would play every match he was fit for in any other La Liga side he was loaned to. Plus just about every Premier League side.

Maybe he wants to stay at Barcelona, giving us the chance for a loan.

He signed a long-term extended contract at Barcelona last month. He's one of their next-big-things. Please see my post 25 for the reasons why if he goes on loan it won't be to Brighton or any club in the Championship, Segunda A, Serie B, Bundesliga 2.............

Brighton - In your face
Loan signings for lower clubs usually only happen towards the end of the window when they realise they're not going to get a place in the team. Anything could happen.

And he's tasted the pies. Gonna have a paella pie.
