Are we missing something or just going senile?

No offence taken! The total number I was referring to was spread across my career, so total employee numbers ranging from about 50 to 12,000. The majority of suspensions were in businesses of 1k-5k employees. In my experience, taking the 3 most senior people out of a (the?) mission-critical activity would be resolved faster than 3 weeks. Businesses do vary greatly in their sensitivity to morale issues though; and we do know that football is a pretty unique business anyway!

Just a bit! I would certainly hope it is resolved in the next 2 weeks....

Attended the Sussex County League dinner at Hove Town Hall tonight, excellent catering by Hardings, former Albion caterers till the Azure bung, and spoke to a number of genuine football people and in most cases long time Albion fans.
To a man all could not understand what is actually going on at the Albion, footballing suicide was a phrase used more than once, I know I will probably get flamed but this has gone on too long, it's turning into a farce, I've no doubt Tony Bloom loves our club as much as we all do, but for that reason alone he has to act now whatever the outcome.

Couldn't agree more. It doesn't take three weeks to conduct investigations and interviews ( are they interviewing every one of the 500 stewards as well or something ? ). It's been handled ineptly and should have been resolved by now. I bet they would have moved faster had Gus been suspended during the season !

No doubt. And this may explain why it's taking longer - the pressure for an immediate resolution is less for both parties.

Caterers like harding caterers would be far more accountable than some multi national company, shame the community tag is getting lost for the short term buck???

The alternative point of view is that we could reward Tony's investment by showing a little faith in his ability to resolve this matter. I find the wall of silence very impressive. It says to me that the club really do have a grip on the situation.

Really? Silence says, er, nothing. Sounds more like paralysis to me.

I hear there was a board meeting last Monday and a planned meeting with GP on Tuesday before he left for Barbados, but the club cancelled it.

We are reaching the point that every day this continues, we are potentially losing out on important players.

We signed Kuszczak on June 20th last pre-season.

Palarse signed most of their closed season players at the end of the transfer window, you know, the ones that helped them get promoted

... and he needs to listen to this message and say something positive that retains the level of confidence in the Club that has been growing over the past few years.

I'm not talking about explaining what's going on behind the scenes. We understand the sensitivities. I'm talking about a bit of flag-waving to reassure the doubters and keep them on board. And that IS a job for the Chairman, not one that he can delegate to his staff, however professional they are.

Really? Silence says, er, nothing. Sounds more like paralysis to me.

Tony Bloom may be a rich fan but that doesn't prevent him making mistakes.

And so it goes on.

If Gus eventually goes I really hope we have aleady lined up a manager and they can get on with it straight away.

There is a danger that this drags on then it takes a similar time to appoint a manager. By then we will be back training.

We can't have anyone lined up as this would be seen as the board pre-empting the outcome of the investigation. Once that's out the way then replacement can be looked for if needed.

I'm sure you will have heard of 'contingency planning'.
