But most (if not all games) that are deemed all-ticket in advance, will still sell tickets on the day/night if the tickets have not sold out.

Most clubs will not turn away paying customers if they can be accommodated.

Common sense generally prevails.

No my point is the one I made above about Notts Forest...its called choice.

Getting the hooligans back!!! *sheesh* I assume the next quote will be something like...if we dont control the fans we wont get Falmer

The club have introduced a scheme that helps reduce the threat of hooliganism - that comes at the expense of being able to choose to go at the last minute. Agree or disagree with it, it has the best interests of the club in mind and it ain't gonna change because you say so. That is modern football for you.

Three quarters of our away games will easily be undersubscribed.

The only potential problems I can foresee will be in the first half of the season:-

Sat 7 Aug Reading
Sat 11 Sep Watford
Sat 25 Sep Gillingham
Sat 13 Nov West Ham United
Sat 11 Dec Millwall
Sat 1 Jan Queens Park Rangers

There will be no problems getting a ticket for any of these matches:-

Sat 14 Aug Wigan Athletic
Mon 30 Aug Leicester City
Wed 29 Sep Nottingham Forest
Sat 16 Oct Crewe Alexandra
Sat 30 Oct Sunderland
Wed 3 Nov Derby County
Sat 27 Nov Ipswich Town
Tue 28 Dec Wolverhampton Wanderers
Sat 15 Jan Sheffield United
Sat 12 Feb Cardiff City
Tue 22 Feb Leeds United
Sat 5 Mar Stoke City
Sat 12 Mar Plymouth Argyle
Sat 2 Apr Coventry City
Tue 5 Apr Preston North End
Sat 16 Apr Burnley
Sat 30 Apr Rotherham United

I agree with Dave, I live in London so don't have the option of popping into the shop.
If I wake up on a Saturday morning and fancy going to say Coventry away, surely that shouldn't be too much of a problem?

It's seems bureaucracy and rules are taking over.

The best poster of the bleedin obvious today.

Do you know I never realised why the did what they did. Thank you for enlightening me. I feel much better now safe in the knowledge that the club have our best interests at heart.

Dave, are you sure it isn't just the case that the tickets allocated to the Albion to sell for away games are only sold by the club to AMS members? So even if the game is not all ticket the Albion only sell to AMS members.

The last game of the season concerns me as Rotherham seriously underestimated how many of us would turn up back in Sept 2002.

There were no programmes left and only one little tea stall that sold out.

Ed, buit that is my point in a nutshell.

There are games there that I may want to go to as gavan has said, but because I am in London working I have to rely on information from the club being up to date to make sure a journey is not wasted. I am not prepared to watch the albion from a "home" end if I cannot get in the "away" end

That's what a phone is for.

I'll print out the telephone numbers of the clubs for you Dave.

As much as the club website is generally way behind and out of date, I find that information regarding ticketing arrangements is usually published well in advance and updates given where needed.

Why complain about it if you understand the reasoning of it then? ???

BTW - you do know it is the lowest form of wit, don't you? :)

That is outrageous...are you telling me I'm going to have to take a thermos flask then.

(No concerns with this game - as last away game of the season and a 2000 capacity it is likely to be a) all ticket and b) sell out. Rotherham will know exactly how many are coming. And I'll be lessening the catering load with my flask of tea and Ginsters cheese & onion pasty)

So what's the problem?

You ring Forest on the day and ask if it is sold out (which I doubt seeing as it's a Wednesday) and then make your decision.

If you want to make absolutely sure you get a ticket through our club.

Fairly simple I would have thought. :p

Yes sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, and patronisim is the highest form of arrogance ( not aimed at you Yorkie BTW)

Dave - My point is that if you're at work and want to make a decision late in the day, and it's midweek, it will always be a game that will be undersubscribed. Phoning the host club will give you the information about whether tickets will be on sale at the gate.
