I fear that the answer is a resounding yes.......... Our squad is just too suited to the shorter formats - Can't seem to bat for long enough, and can't bowl teams out twice.

If we beat those cheeky chappies from Yorkshire though, I believe that we can stay up. That game is HUGE now. (Not expecting to get anything against Notts I'm afraid)

Huge, huge game on Wednesday. Think Rayner should be dropped and play an extra seamer

I feel that with FDM's superior shot-stopping, a settled solid back 4, some pace down the wings, and a Forster/Dickinson strike partnership we will do well this season, can really see the team starting to gel...i think this thread is a bit pessimistic...up the albion!

Agreed, Clarkey.

I was going to say our biggest game for a long time, but making the final and thus heading to India will go some way to recovering our annual season losses.

Still, Division Two is our rightful place as we are obviously a minor county!

I thought this was about football, not boring f***ing cricket !!

There was a cricket ball icon, but it got usurped by the poll icon.

Cricket is FAR from boring.

I don't like it as there is more time of inactivity than the actual game being played,
i,e bowler bowls, run up 4 seconds, player plays ball in play for 10 seconds, total play time 14 seconds, then 1 minute before play starts again.

More time is spent waiting for something to happen, than actual play.

As for the relegation question ...

Beating Yorkshire won't be enough.

It's the Yorkshire v Hampshire fixture that will settle things. I can easily envisage a situation in which Sussex are struggling at Trent Bridge and an understanding develops between the two captains playing at Headingley that the right result for them both would be one that sinks Sussex. Twelve points apiece from a high scoring draw, for example.

I've voted argggh.

where as football flows from start to finish once the ball has been hoofed into the crowd countless times, the divers have been awarded their marks out of ten and the physio has covered 5 miles because someone keeps treading on the centre backs big toe!!
