We are still 7th.We have lots of injuries in key areas. We have lost a manager (run away) again, which must have a knock on effect. Some good young players coming through but we can't expect miracles from them, yet.
I know we all pay fortunes to watch and have every right to have a go but I do feel it is a little hystirical tonight.
So we only have 1 point from a possible 15.
No one is forced to go and support the team, you aren't forced to go to Notts County and every far flung corner of the country in your quest to support your team. But do we really have to be so downhearted ? Give the players a bit of stick but now it is over,we have to get straight behind them again and try to lift them from the terracing as usual. In the 2nd half they did give it a go,maybe they just aren't good enough. To say that the players go out and can't be bothered or are not interested is a comment handed out to freely and I do not believe that any Brighton player would not care for his club, team mates, manager and fans.
They may not be good enough or lack confidence but to say they don't care etc is a bit much.
I still believe we can get promoted again and I certainly still believe in the club,Dick Knight ,Mark McGhee and the players.
I will go to Notts County and hope we come away with all 3 points. The players just don't become bad players, class is permanent form is temporary.
Look forward to a few other more confident views.

We're due a mid table season and I believe that this what we'll get as McGhee rebuilds a legendary but ageing team. It's a come down from the high expectations of a few weeks ago, but it didn't take a genius to see that we have not looked genuine contenders very often this season. McGhee will slowly dismantle Micky Adams team and there is a fair bit of homegrown talent challenging to be part of the new one.

I appreciate your comments above indeed, I dont expect us to be winning every game. However in the last few weeks we have had 4 stuck in by Brentford and BC and 3 by a team a division below us. that to me is a major worry.

Even in the 'nightmare years' we only use to lose by the odd goal. The problem is not just that we are losing games but the manner in which we are losing them, we are being turned over at times. :nono:

I've heard over the last month or so from posters on here........We are still 2nd.........We are still 3rd after losing 3 on the trot......Now you say we are still 7th!!

What you going to say in 2 months time ? Don't worry we are 14th and still have a chance of a play-off ? You are speaking shit.

I don't know much about McGhee's tactics but I believe that we need to concentrate on not conceding for the next few games, rather than scoring, to get some confidence back. Not pretty but the wheels have come off big time recently, as you say. Gung ho attacking football is not the way forward at the moment imho

Might be talking shit, but at least up beat and Supporting the team and club.SO easy to jump up and down and start screaming how shit it is.No one has a magic wand to wave and make it ok,no bottomless pit of money to go out and get players. No devine right to win every game.As has been said if we get the ground sorted and stay on an even keel then it will not be all doom and gloom.Too many fans are just screaming shit.
Next we will have season ticket holders not turning up and leaving their seats empty so the anti Falmer brigade can say we don't need a bigger ground.
Get real we are going through a bad patch and YES we are still 7th,Cheaterfield look doomed and didn't they come up with us a few seasons ago ? where have they got to.
We are still right up with the pace and have every right to still look forward to this season. So many on here pre seasin were saying a playoff place would be good this season. How things change and I thought only prem fans were fickle but now I remember how bad SOME of our lot can be.

Yesterday was very poor. And we have seen what the players that played yesterday can do but against Bristol City they fell well short.

That said I agree that some people are going a little over the top after the game. I know it is hard to find positives after yesterday but I still have faith that we will turn it around and improve soon.

I actually thought yesterday was better than the showing against Stockport. Bristol City were a well-organised side that knew how to split our woeful defence apart in a decisive way. If they had any more space they'd have declared Withdean a National Park. Like too many visiting sides this season, they had our number early on, but we had them on the back foot for half an hour in the second half and everybody's spirits lifted. That's really all it takes. We couldn't sustain it, but at least we were beaten by a half-decent team. Stockport, on the other hand, was a disgrace.

Your point about " not being forced to go and watch the team " hits the nail on the head. Thats the hole problem as we have a choice and if we continue to play like that the gates will drop to around 5000 ( season tickets and away fans ) none of the extra tickets will sell and that will play into the hands of the Falmer nimby's.

Next seasons ticket holders will plummet to below 4000 and the rot is in.

Have you noticed we are several hundred short of capacity each gmne already ?

I thought moaning and groaning was part of football these days and to mention you have a choice to go or not is stupid.
Thats like sitting there and taking it all in and even mark mc ghee stated that he heard the shouts and totally agreed.???

Supporters are not daft and they have a right to shout if the team show no passion or spirit.

thing i would like to know is how the players lost all confidence after we reached top of league. surely even losing manager could not of hit us that bad. but seems to have.
:nono:
we will be back keep the faith. mcghee will get it right soon.
