It is not a good idea to go down but it will provide fresh challenges and yes I would expect the chairman's monies to go further in that league. I doubt if it is going to happen but relegation is part of football and bigger clubs than us have been relegated.

The club, the players and the fans have been a bit too arrogant and taken things a bit too much for granted. It would certainly be a big wake up call and next time around I am sure we would do things a little differently in this division.

The upside of going down may be that CMS looks within his depth again.

However, the downside is that we'll probably keep him.

At any normal club, cheaper tickets - and also easier to get them at short notice without a mad scramble. Better results and season prospects. Transport easier with smaller crowds, could probably leave later even with young kids.

These obviously don't outweigh the downsides, but they would ease the pain.
