I think they are 3 excellent signings.

Old my arse. Viduka is 28 i think, i call that coming into his prime !
Hasselbaink has just turned 32, which is no age, got a couple of good seasons left in him, and a proven goalscorer in the Prem.
And Reizeger is 31 , at least 3 years in him.

Looking like a good side next season.

And got 2 of them for free. Fine work i reckon.

Indeed Marshy. These playesr are very different to the likes of Ravanelli and Enerson i think. Proven in this country and very dependable/ Viduka and Hasselbaink would make one of the most dangerous partnerships in the country, if not (gulp) the best.

They only need to do well for one season, once they get champions league (IF!?) then thye can get younger quality players!

Well we'll see. There's more to building a decent team than just signing good individual players. There are some serious egos there and I still think they'll finish nearer the bottom than top.

Top 8 for sure in my opinion.

Having won the Carling Cup, what does that qualify them for?

They also have a good manager which is as important as the players being signed. If they end up in the top five we should sack Sven and give the England job to McLaren :jester:

They've qualified for Europe and won a trophy, so they deserve respect. I think with their squad they will be in the middle tier of teams along with Spurs, Villa, Charlton etc.

The team is on the old side, so I can't see them breaking into the top 5.

One team that has bought quite well is Birmingham. I could see them establishing themselves as a second tier team in the Premiership.

Yes, I see Birmingham have just bought Melchiot on a free this afternoon. The fallout from Chelsea continues to have a knock on effect, they are letting some good players go.

Nowadays I regard Middlesbrough as a footballing retirement home - bit like Chelsea pre Abramovich . One good last pay day before my ankles/knees/ligaments give up completely. You wouldn't mind if these players were at the top of their form but they have all had their best days at other clubs.

and as we all know it will all end in tears because these players have no passion for the shirt whatsoever - their only passion is for the money...................................... (look at Viduka last season for Leeds, especially in the last game)

Boro have got a knack of signing mercanaries (spelling?) - they say a fool and his money are easily parted - good job Gibsons got lots.
Mid-table next season.
