The format of the Champions League is designed to benefit the media and in particular Sky sport.
When the World Cup comes around and you ask Arsenal fans if they intend on supporting England they will look at you blankly, and totally miss the irony.
The Premiership itself is full of players with more money than sense and no real motivation: after all, if everything goes 'pear shaped' the manager carries the can.
But it doesn't just stop there does it: Carole, Turienzo, Reid, Kuipers, Nicholas, Frutos - when was the last time we had so many foreigners in our squad. Doesn't seemed to have benefitted us does it?
