From Pete's friends and family:

Tonight at the Amex, we’ll be remembering Pete Griffin — a devoted Albion fan who sadly passed away, far too young, on 8th May.
Pete was Albion through and through: a lifelong supporter, REMF goalkeeper for a decade and instantly recognisable with his scarf and badges. He followed the Albion everywhere and brought nothing but warmth, wit and heart to all those he met.
We are asking all Albion fans at the game tonight to join us in a minute’s applause on the 49th minute, marking Pete's age when he tragically left us, let’s send Pete off flying high with the Seagulls.
Thank you.

I posted the same to NSC's facebook page, and one of the replies is lovely:

Such sad news! My daughter met Pete for the first time about a year ago and was totally obsessed with his scarf (got a photo with it). A few weeks later, Pete came into the North Stand with a gift for her—her very own scarf and first set of badges. This started her own collection, which she's still adding to (got a picture of her outside the terrace with it!). This really shows Pete's kind nature and love for the club and fellow supporters. He will be missed!
The lady also shared a picture of her daughter with her scarf complete with growing badge collection.

A bouquet of flowers from Pete's family will be placed on Pete's seat in the north stand this evening
