So many mistakes on this thread!

For Chelsea to finish 7th:
Forest must beat Chelsea
City need a point in two matches
Villa to avoid defeat at United

For us to finish 8th
- if Bournemouth win their final two games we must win against Spurs. If they drop any points in either game we finish above them

- If Brentford don’t win, we finish above them. If they win we only need a point agsinst Spurs.

If the season ends with Chelsea in 7th and us in 8th Chelsea need to win the Conference League.
Gold star ⭐

Assuming city beat BMuff:

Albion need a point or Brentford not to win to secure 8th

Forest must beat Chelsea

Villa must get a point or more v Man U

Chelsea must win the Europa Conf league

Still pretty unlikely, but mad how many results have gone our way since Sunday.

Can see it all happening but biggest issue I see is Chelsea losing to forest

I've simplyfied it here
(IF Chelsea lose at Forest
AND
Man City pick up 1 point against Bournemouth H or Fulham A
AND
Villa pick up 1 point against Man Utd A
AND
Newcastle don't lose by more than 2 to Everton H)
AND
(Brighton win at Spurs
OR
(Brentford fail to win at Wolves
AND
Bournemouth fail to beat both Man City or Leicester))
AND
Chelsea win the UCoL

I'd be interested to know what odds there are for all those results coming in.
Looks like the world's worse parley/accumulator bet.

It's grim oop north
After saturdays ****show we needed about 9 results to all go perfectly our way

If city don't lose tonight that's the first 4 ticked off
* forest beating west ham
* brentford not beating fulham
* brighton beating liverpoom
* bournemouth not beating city

Down from 60/1 to 5/1 pretty much considering factoring odds of Brentford not winning.

Crazy swing. Shame it’s not the conference league game before the Forest game.

Pedantic much
i think you missed the irony.:wink:

Chelsea aren’t playing in the Europa League so “if they must win the Europa” in order for us to get Conference next season, that’s it then, it’s an impossible ask 🙂

I think Chelsea are doing well at home and average away recently - it’s got them into 5th place and they’ve won 4 out of the last 5 games beating Fulham, Manure and Liverpool 3-1. Like all teams (apart from Liverpool) they’ve been inconsistent - but they will be fighting for a place in the Champions League so will be a very tough opponent.

To cheer people up it is clearly now extremely likely that we WILL finish 8th and will NOT get Europe due to a combination of Palace and Chelsea.

Around 85% likely we'll get 8th.
Then, if we do, around 80% likely we still won't get Europe.

Forest will be up for it on Sunday. Home advantage and the reality of knowing they need to win the game for Champions League football. (As a draw won’t do them)

The City ground will be rocking and I really fancy them.

Villa getting something at Old Trafford is a given and United have absolutely nothing to play for.

I think the biggest risk this weekend is us not getting anything at Spurs and Brentford winning at Wolves. (I hope I'm wrong)

You’d like to think Chelsea will be far to strong for Betis next week.

Does that mean we win the Eurovision Song Contest?

Hoping Hudson-Odoi is massively up for it and plays the game of his life!
