Never late in a V8
I will be at the game tomorrow night, yes I will sing me heart out hopefully celebrating 3 points. Again the following Sunday doing the same. Who knows we could be in conference league, keep the faith
Well there’s absolutely no way Man City will let us down when needed. None whatsoever.Never bought a half and half scarf before, but if someone has an Albion, Forest, Villa, Man City 1/4 1/4 one for next weekend i'm in.
Fewer.Odds are 20/1 on Betfair for the six fold. However in reality a bit less as doesn’t factor in Brentford not winning meaning we need less points.
MoronAnd losing to 9 men.
We do not deserve Europe. Primary aim of the club is making profit from players.
That scenario wouldn’t guarantee us a European place next season. We would still need Chelsea to beat Betis the following Wednesday in the Europa Conference Final.I’d be massively surprised if we do go into Sundays game knowing that a win at Spurs and Forest to beat Chelsea would secure us a European place….
But… if that is the scenario I’d be quietly confident.
Come on Man City and let’s hope Liverpool heads are already ‘on the beach’ tomorrow.![]()
Might be worth trying to get it just for being above 9th.It is worth trying to get 8th just in case Man City get a points deduction.
Very good point. That scenario wouldn’t guarantee us a European place next season. We would still need Chelsea to beat Betis the following Wednesday in the Europa Conference Final.
City only need a point to be above Chelsea on GD, which you’d hope they’ll manage in two games despite being shit yesterday. You’ve got to fancy Villa to beat a tired Man U with nothing to play for as well. This is definitely on.I’d be massively surprised if we do go into Sundays game knowing that a win at Spurs and Forest to beat Chelsea would secure us a European place….
But… if that is the scenario I’d be quietly confident.

Villa less so, I'd say. But on the broader point, you're right. The FH style will put players' bodies under more pressure and its shown this season for some of the injuries. It takes time to transition to different styles of play and we've suffered as a result of that. A couple of points on this:
-- I suspect one of the reasons we signed so many attacking players in the summer was so that FH could freshen things up from the bench and bring on more quality. The players substituted would be in the following order (taking into account distance covered and intensive sprints): front four; CMs and FBs; and ideally not GK or CBs.
-- we've suffered a few freak injuries this season and been unlucky on that front (Joao Pedro and MOR due to thuggery; Georginio got his foot caught; probably some others too), and these have had a knock-on effect on the rest of the squad. Don't think it'll be so bad on that front next season and the squad will be more attuned to the FH style (including new signings, pre-season training) for next season.
-- some will claim that we should adopt the Nuno style. I don't think Tony wants to and glad of this. One thing looks pretty clear is that the Pep suffocate the opposition through possession style has seen its day and that one style will predominate in the years ahead. The FH/Iraola style is currently in pole position but it might be the Nuno one. On which, Jonathan Liew said that our home gam against Bournemouth was the best game of the season and was like watching football from the future.
