aol help

just phoned aol re slow and non connection to websites and they tell me there is maintenence going in in the area ( horsham) anyone else having aol problems today please or are they just fobbing me off?

Not noticed anything worse than normal - I'm in Rudgwick but it's an 01403 number.

Got a similar problem that started last night !

On my Desktop using AOL, all works perfectly ok but on my Laptop, using Internet Explorer, I can't access ebay, hotmail or similar sites that seem to require logging on. They eventually load but the home page goes to basic format - weird.

Any ideas out there from the NSC computer experts. Have tried switchiing off my firewall etc & still no joy.


Oh & guess what - it doesn't help if I switch it off & back on again !

oh thats just the same problem as me.... aol told me it is maintenece work... and will be restored within 5 or 6 hours.....lets hope so, but i don't feel so alone now lol thanks

Are you ok logging onto NSC & BBC etc ?


I only seem to have problems with my main BT internet email account, ebay & sites that require passwords.

I really can't see how maintenance work would affect servers like this though. Also, you're having pproblems with AOl but mine is ok ? !

can log into nsc and can see seagulls.co.uk and youtube, but can't get onto hotmail, ebay, facebook, most odd... my computer expert said it may be something to do with proxy server ( whatever that it ). guess i'll be ringing aol again tonight ( oh joy)

Cant get into talktalk e-mail (provided by AOL) to retrieve e-mails as there is a message saying temporarily unavailable due to maintenance. Ongoing for the last 3 days.
