Here's the thing. It is possible to chat about all sorts on here without much risk of being trolled. OK, some people take the piss out of long posts but eventually it becomes water off a duck's back, and "TL-DR" has become a bit of a standing joke than now makes me smile.
I also think that lots of us have learned how to behave better to one another. People even apologise. To people they have never met and are never likely to meet
The last nasty message I received was a weird one about a year ago from someone I have never heard of and who appears to never have posted again. I had apparently caused extreme annoyance for (looks up Peter Cook) offences against Dame Anna Neagle. It's sad that some folk quit reading and posting because they think NSC is 'woke' but if this represents the evolution of NSC, it represents survival of the people willing to engage, and the extinction of quitters. That has to be a good thing, right? Setting fire to the building and flouncing is so.....needless. And I suspect there are lots of youngsters (under 40) who read NSC and may well engage, or are thinking about it. It can't be that all the funny, concerned, excited, worried, happy people who support the Albion are geriatrics. Shirley?
And there is always the ignore function. Thread or person. Considering that my autism means I can't read between disguised lines, the fact I feel comfortable here is a testament to the way the board is set up and curated. I have had my collar felt on a couple of occasions for being a tit, and fair enough. Nobody is too old to learn how to behave better, even if it can be a struggle sometimes. You slags.
