I always try to stay at the Lion & Lamb pub just inside the city walls near Bootham, though it tends to get booked up a long way in advance. Good beer, excellent brekkie, two minutes away from the Minster.

I stayed in the Gillygate B&B for a weekend with the missus back in March - town and station all easy walking distance.
Nothing special but price was reasonable as was the FULL ENGLISH.

Staying here. £28 per room per night.

Four of us in our group, plus at least one other Albion booking that weekend that I know of. Owner is a Boro fan & a lovely chap. Took us about an hour to get to the ground from there last season, and it's a stunning drive over the moors (well, until you get in sight of Middlesbrough itself).

There are really places that only charge £28 per night in England in 2016?!?
