Anyone remember this programme? 1970's maybe

Okay I dont have too much detail, but i have always wanted to identify the theme tune, and thought it was jackson Browne for some reason, but may just have been similar genre. this is all i recall
It would have been, i think, early to mid seventies
American family tv drama
similar i guess to waltons/Little house type of programme
Also was based in i think around late 1800's not sure
Centred upon a town/settlement that was i believe home to settlers, Dutch/German i am pretty sure.
the thing i do recall was the opening titles, it was the song in background and the opening title was a map (imagine bonanza but not with the map burning!)

One of those memories that just pops into my head every now and then

nope none of these. it was not really a Western, much more the story lines were akin to little house type storylines. seem to recall it was following the building of a new community of settlers
