If you have a video that you think could be news worthy or useful for documentaries, advertisers etc it could be worth uploading to an agent like newsflare.com (but shop around for best deal and you'll need to setup a paypal account)
I’m no expert but my understanding is the adverts they put on aren't worth much unless the views go into millions but if say the online Telegraph, Daily Mail, Sun etc want to use it you can earn a few hundred. If TV use it you can earn a very nice sum coz they’re usually charged top rates.

I say random example but I hate seagulls they annoy me whereas Dolphins they're unusual creatures, different thread I suppose.

My son spends a fair bit of his time watching the YouTube videos of the gamer called KSI. He seems like an absolute KNOB, but does make a fair bit of money from it I believe.
