i usually get my housing benefit in on a monday, but with the monday coming being a bank holiday does anyone know if it usually comes in before or after the date?

there is conflicting information on the internet before anyone asks

my guess is that it'll come in after, which'll be a pain in the anus

I work in HB for my local Counciil, we've done our payments early as the office is closed next week.
Best ask your council what they are doing.

It must be almost impossible to get a job at this time of year, when you are out of work. The new year ought to pick up a bit though.

What are you good at, maybe someone on NSC can give you a pointer?

I always find it amazing how choosy lots of people out of work are about the job they will do. I have taken a job working for a company where i control all my own hours. It is an excellent opportunity and they still have jobs going.

Hmmmm ...... it wouldn't be one of those companies involved in selling things like Sky door to door who promise the world just as long as you work hard but offer a basic of about £100 per week ?

not that it's absolutely any of your business but i do work.......however i am treated as low income.......housing benefit doesn't cover all my rent just a portion of it to help me out

And...even if you do work hard there's no guarantee that people are gonna be interested.

I tried that kind of work and discovered and I'm not a salesman by nature. Couldn't make a success of it. It's not a question of being choosy.

what the bollox are you on about? the poor guy was asking about housing benefit. Nothing to indicate he was any more work shy than you or the rest of us. Do you wake up with an agenda every morning or is it hormones? ??? :albion2:

Dont have much time for NMH owing to some of his/her posts on here, but that was a pretty poor response to what looked to be a caring post by him/her!

TL-where in the above post is he/she being judgmental or anything but helpful? You have put people right on here about housing benefit, but it was a reasonable assumption to assume you were out of work.

Or do you/NMH have history?
