[Albion] Anyone know what happened in the south-east corner in the second half?

All the Chelsea goons were picking on some lad in the front row of the lower east and he ended up either leaving or moving. Felt for the guy.
Apparently the Chelsea lot where “picking” on him he’s got autism and had a meltdown

What a surprise, nothing will be done though, had it been our supporters calling their player "what wolves did" we would have had a massive fine and an empty stadium for 3 matches

I was sat above it. I didn't see what instigated it, I think he might have said something to them but they then spent the next twenty minutes not watching the match but singing various songs about how overweight he was.

I really felt for him as he was sat in the front row, seemingly on his own, no more than 10 metres away from roughly 500 fans calling him fat over and over again.

Stewards I think were trying to get the Chelsea chavs to shut up, and he then went to speak to the police about it, but not sure what anyone could really do about it, and so he just left I think.

My friend sits right there, and it was 1066/Adrie that was getting the abuse. Apparently it was quite difficult to watch, some usual homophobic gestures and other stuff. Apparently it was reported to several members of our yellow army, nothing was done about it, so in the end he left, which I thought was a real shame after I heard the full story.

I would hope that those Chelsea fans (scum) will be disappointed with their bullying behaviour when they reflect on this (they won’t) but mob mentality made them think it was funny.
Given the number of free seats in the ESL I’m not surely why the stewards didn’t move the guy (I know, I know… why should he have to move…. But it’s just common sense to protect him).

A friend of mine (Chelsea fan) said it was quite hard to watch, and then eventually a Brighton fan started giving it back to them, and he was promptly ejected. While the Chelsea fans were free to continue.

yep I saw this. He was the only one who stood up for him though. Many others around him were just laughing along.

I saw that too. Couple of coppers came along and took escorted him away.

Standard Brighton then, booting out our own fans while allowing away fans to do whatever they want.

From what I could see it seemed to me that the stewards were trying to be all matey with the Chelsea scum, in a kind of "we've all had a laugh chaps, but the weirdo doesn't like it, perhaps lets stop yeah??". Surprisingly that approach didn't work (!), but not sure what else they can do when there's 500 all singing the same songs.

Sadly you are correct - what are the stewards and police meant to do ? Eject 500+ away fans ? The quickest, easiest and least confrontational way of dealing with it would have been to move the BHA fan to somewhere else in the ground - preferably the Director's box.

Classic Amex-era Albion. The low hanging fruit of selecting the home fan.
